Since 1966 in Omiš during summer lives and entertains Festival of
Dalmatian A Cappella Singers. Festival praises the old Dalmatian way of
singing, in small groups, without instruments (a cappella). It has a special
place in cultural life not only of the city, but of the whole area. From its
beginning more then 200 groups (klapas) from Croatia and abroad have performed
there. Its significance can be seen through impressive publiching activities
and the fact that the male finals are broadcasted live on Croatian TV. This
Festival lasts during July.
